I watched How To Train Your Dragon last night and that put me in the mood to bust out a Viking.

Color Study

I've been doing color studies of Disney backgrounds over lunch. This is the start of one from 'Sleeping Beauty'. Just the rough in sketch, but I'll be updating it as I go along.

I need to do more figure drawing....

Ron's Figure Drawing 3-27-10

Had a wonky eye issue with this one. A bit rusty since it's been a few weeks since the last session. But I like where the illustrative style was going. I'll be studying up on some structure, but I'm also really interested in trying to simplify and stylize it now.

This was about a 20 min pose. Again a bit of a proportion issue as I was making a gesture and then laying in more solid forms without refining as much as I should have. The face came out relatively nice in this one though.
